What is divorce mediation?
Mediation is a process where parties work together cooperatively in a non- adversarial way to settle differences. The mediators are neutral professionals who will guide the parties in reaching a settlement that is fair and mutually acceptable. They help the clients assess their needs, communicate these needs, listen to the needs of the other side and fairly negotiate an agreement.
When working with our mediation team the clients have the benefit of a licensed therapist-mediator trained in conflict resolution, anger management and communication skills. The attorney-mediator is knowledgeable in the various legal issues that need to be addressed in the divorce process. An attorney-therapist team is considered most beneficial in resolving all aspects of family mediation. Together, they help the couple move forward to cooperatively and efficiently resolve legal and non-legal issues.
